Allied Grinder/Polisher

Description

The MetPrep1x Precision Grinding/Polishing machine is used for manual preparation of samples that are very delicate, requiring low RPM and torque. 

Capabilities

• Variable platen speed 5-350 RPM (5 RPM increments) with five (5) adjustable preset buttons
• 0.7 HP (535 W) Brushless DC motor provides constant high-torque output throughout the speed range
• Clockwise/counterclockwise platen rotation
• Either precision, standard or magnetic 8"/203 mm or 10"/254 mm platens may be used with any plain/adhesive backed or magnetic system disc

TEM Wedge Polisher

The MetPrep1x Grinder/Polisher is equipped with the TEM Wedge Tool. The Wedge tool is used to thin materials for TEM imaging. It is able to wedge radial or axial angles in the sample with the rear micrometer. 

Capabilities

• Cross-sectioning and Pyrex paddles allow quick, easy removal for sample inspection and exact repositioning throughout the polishing procedure
• Small Pyrex footprint reduces planarization time due to less surface area making contact with the abrasive
