Meet our new SRO Research Associate, Dr. Joyce Anderson

Meet our new SRO Research Associate, Dr. Joyce Anderson. Dr. Anderson works primarily with our scanning electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy instruments. She devotes much of her time to training students and faculty to not only operate the equipment, but also how to interpret the results. She is also responsible for maintaining the equipment and developing SOPs and application notes for advanced techniques. Her educational and industry background focused on materials and mechanical engineering, and she is a graduate of the Texas State University Materials Science, Engineering, and Commercialization Doctoral program. “I really enjoy working in SRO and interacting with all the students and researchers here at Texas State. Every day, I get the opportunity to learn new things, whether it’s helping a biology student use the SEM to image a parasite found in the San Marcos River, or working with physics students to characterize the electrical properties of materials. There are so many exciting research projects going on at Texas State and I’m happy to be able to support those efforts!” -Dr. Joyce Anderson
